LETS FACE THE FACTS. MANY JEWS WERE INDUCED TO MOVE TO SETTLEMENTS IN THE 'WEST BANK' AS THEY WERE INDUCED TO MOVE TO GAZA BY THE LIKUD AND LABOUR. THE POLICY WAS CO-EXISTANCE. THE SECURITY ESTABLISHMENT VIEWED THESE AREAS ESSENTIAL TO ISRAEL'S SECURITY. AND SO, JEWS WERE INDUCED TO MOVE TO THESE AREAS; WE CAN WORK WITH THE ARABS, WE CAN MINGLE WITH THEM, WE CAN GIVE THE ARABS JOBS, IT IS A 'WIN WIN' SITUATION. EVER SINCE OSLO, WHEN RABIN FIRST RAISED THE IDEA OF A FENCE, THE 'SETTLERS' BECAME THE PROBLEM. IT DID NOT MATTER THAT MANY SETTLERS BELEIVED STILL IN THE PRINCIPLE OF CO-EXISTANCE. THE GOVERNMENT WAS MOVING IN THE DIRECTION OF SEPPERATION FOR MAINLY DEMOGRAPHIC REALITIES. THE DEBATE TODAY IS WERE TO PUT THE FENCE. HOW MUCH LAND DOES THE GOVERNMENT BELEIVE IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE AIRPORT AND MAJOR CITIES FROM ROCKET ATTACKS. AND THEN, ARE THERE JEWS (WITH OR WITHOUT GOOD INTENTIONS) THAT LIVE IN THE AREAS OUTSIDE THE FENCE.
