    This was not an attempt to stifle debate. This was an attempt to show that the relentless one sided anti israel position of the union ( and no other country was the subject of the unions attention) created an unbearable atmosphere for Jewish members. It actually stifled debate to support israel. This is a union of lecturers and teachers who are supposed to encourage free discussion. The last straw was to excuse themselves from the EU definition of antisemitism so they could continue their one sided attack on the only democratic country in that area
