Howdy Robert; This is a highly volatile situation. One cannot have thousands of gunmen from two rival factions parading around Gaza City glowering and brandishing loaded weapons at each other without something going wrong. A single insult, car backfiring, or firecracker will result in a major firefight breaking out. The so-called "leadership" of Fatah and Hamas and even the Egyptians are trying to calm the situation, but since when have the Palestinian militants agreed to abide by any political decision which they don't like? Oh well, let them shoot it out in the Gaza Strip and may the best man win. Victory or death! What really gets me is that some people are still trying to blame the Israeli "occupation" of Gaza (which no longer exists) for the violence. Blame anybody but the poor, peace-loving Palestinians is the knee-jerk response of the far left.
