The cost of living has gone up incredibly throughout the world. My friends in europe have been complaining about it for many years now. Australia has become so expensive in general that even a small carbon tax implementation has caused big debate and opposition. Canada too, as I have just read from a comment.Hundreds of Billions of tax money was used to save big businesses in the US, the Bailout as we know it. Although its important to protect the rich because of their contributions to the economy, its not fair to put most of the burden on the middle and lower class. impatience is starting to grow. The Arab spring seems like it has inspired people in the middle east not just against tyranny but also the general high cost of living and governement incompetence. The protests in Israel will hopefully inspire Canadians,Australians,Europeans and other people around the world to stand up against economic injustices.
