It is about time common sense has prevailed. For far too long the rights of the victim have been sacrificed for the sake of upholding the rights of the accused. Living in England, I am all too aware of these practices, and the general public are sick to death of it. "there is fear that the emergency regulations could damage the rights of suspects in criminal proceedings .... police will be authorized to detain any suspect for up to nine hours instead of three hours" - Heaven forbid that someone accused of breaking the law should have to spend an extra 6 hours in jail. If the individual is found innocent however, those 6 hours will not have killed them. Get a grip, Haaretz.
