Mr G.L. was also critical of both Rabin and Barak at their times as PM. In other words, he did 'open his eyes' even then. Although you are entitled to call Mr G.L. a leftist if you like, in my view he is essentially defending freedom of press and civil rights regardless of rightist or leftist governments.
