Jeff, in spite of living courtesy of international aid, the Palestinian 'refugees' (for how many decades can you call yourself a refugee?) have grown their population exponentially and now number some 5 million. Israel is a tiny, desert land, and has taken large numbers of Jewish people fleeing Arab countries especially in North Africa. Given the large expanse of Arab, Muslim countries in the vicinity, surely the best solution to this ongoing problem is for their Muslim brothers to take them in. The vast sums of money given by the international community could go instead to those countries willing to take them in. This would be a strong motivation. It could be used for housing, infrastructure, helping set up businesses etc. Even the Imams recommend Muslims migrating to Muslim lands. Many people around the world, after wars, have had to make lives in other countries, and mainly have been very successful.
