An apprentice of the Middle East moderrn history knows that a cousin of an Arab dictator is never a "critic" of his cousin dictator. The cousin of an Arab dictator is a business partner of the dictaotr, and a good damn one.The mission of ribal and the author of the article is to scare the West off the idea of arming the rebels. We get that. But, what both omit to mention is what is the alternative? Side by the Syrian dictatorship, the Iraniian dictatorship, another little Lebenaese dictaorship in progress, and the enforcement of this axe of dictatorships by the two super power dictatorships Russia dn China? If the Syrian revolution is crushed, and it wont't, the middle East will become a hatching nest of all kind of twisted ideologies, raised on the concept of destroying life to honor death and the graves of dead people.
