Egypt has no cause to c9mplain about the treaty. it was handed the completel Sinai, which it NEVER owned, with operatiohb oil wells already there etc. etc As Sadat triumphantly was grinning......."all this for a scrap of apaper" .....Begin's biggest mistake. By International Law, it was owned by nobody, a left over undistributed portion of the former Turkish Empire, whohad always reetained FULL sovereign rights to the Sinai. Therr are existing treaties giving Egypt an adminstrative right to a thin strip along the canal, but the Turks reserve the sovereign rights (I think 1905-6) Israel had more right ti it than anyone.
