Obama steers away from interfering/imposing, but not because of some socialist/communist/revolutionary inclination. He is a modern guy, a jurist and a politician. He wants to be reelected. He loves to be a father. He loves dogs. He loves his wife, a modern and strong woman. He looks at the israeli-palestinian conflict and at the american presidents and the sad chapters of history. Is he going to be the Messiah? No. And why should he get into the quagmire? He says: We have a Quartet. Let´s work together. There will be no miracles. But it is possible to contain trouble and upheavals, and it is possible to promote good change. One must, according to my opinion, understand that Obama has done his homework and knows the parameters of the conflict, but it is still a shallow and superficial understanding. That´s why he accepts Netanyahus arguments. Well, enough. The palestinians will push forward in september and gather their supporters in EU and elsewhere, and the whole affair is going to bounce back and force Obama to several re-evaluations.
