Samuel, you have a lot to say about US foreign aid. Much of it erroneous, and all of it scurrilous. The US determines its foreign aid based on return benefit to US national security interests. Intense questions have arisen recently in the US (last 5-6 years) about the benefits to the US from its investment in Israel. As you know the US has been Israel's only steadfast ally for over 60 years. The US protects Israel in the UN with vetoes, guarantees Israel's international loans and supports Israel with aid, last year $3 billion. As of 2008 US aid to Israel since 1949 totaled $103.6 Billion. That does not include interest lost on grants etc., and total cost to US is over $3 trillion. The return? Israel thumbed its nose at Obama when trying to get peace talks started he urged a freeze on settlements. According to the FBI, Israel is the 2nd most aggressive nation running espionage operations against the US. China is #1. We have no common terrorists targets. So no help there. Good investmen
