Under nowadays conditions, n the from you cited human rights the very fundation of Israel maybe would not be possible again, and we would be responsible to make jews equal citizens of our society. But history turned out otherwise. Colonial times are gone.Now Israel is an adult nation, it takes responsibility for its own safety so it should take responsibility for the peace with its own neighbors. criticism (and weapons) we give them enough, now Israel should be happy that we do not take over more responsibility. Me, weighing both sides' arguments pro or contra Boykott, I find good reasons in both. by the way boykotting one conference in Israel is not making a whole boykott of israeli academia. there are many more opportunities to meet and stay in contact.
