Well, just take a look at all the scary responses above. Most Isrealis commenting here seems to think this was actually well deserved and that the officer (leutanant colonel, need I say more regarding dicipline or lack of it when even higher officers treat protesters like they were in Syria?) acted as he should. Unbelievable I know, but just look at the responses here. And this is Haaretz, a non-extremist paper. Take a look at Ynet.com where you find the true ultra nationalist loonies. Scary as shit I tell you! That these people belive themselves to be part of the "West" is just mindboogling when the behaviour they so seem to like, looks more like Syria or Egypt :S I seriously for the Israelis sake hope that israels pendulum move to the extreme right is done soon and starts to at least swing moderatly to the left, since Israel is turning into something very, very Far Right and extreme these days. And no, conflict with the palestinians while an excuse is not a good enough excuse for such extreme political philosophies, nor is the Holocaust something that can be used yet again as an excuse. Look to the West for politics, Israel, and stop acting like you want to be at the dinner table with Assad and Ahmadinijadh.
