Dr. Brnrd is correct in that core support for Israel's survival is solid amongst all streams and political opinions, but Dr. Brnrd doesn't go to or like the B'Nai Peace Nows, and I wonder how he's so confident that the Women of the Wall question doesn't exist? It's part of a much larger issue of women's role in Judaism, and you better believe that if my synagogue were not egalitarian, we wouldn't be there. We disdain sheitals, mochitzas, women's balconies, separate seating, and no women on the bima or reading Torah. If you want to confine my daughter in a physical and spiritual burqua, you'll find that I will be all over you, and so will many people in my congregation and in other congregations.
