No they didn't. Israel broke a prisoner exchange agreement and rescued Israeli prisoners. Hezbollah acted grabbing 2 IDF soldiers, restoring the prisoner balance to as it was before Israel broke the agreement. That's not Hezbollah 'providing an opportunity.' That's Ehud Olmert being a two-faced jerk and risking Israeli security to look tough and duplicitous.
