THe palestinian state was already approved, under the same moment Israel was recognised. Therefore: the question is not to ask for its recognition but a redifinition of its borders. A rejection today would supersedes the res 171. The approach should be: redifinition of borders: in lieu of 1947 borders, palestinians request less favorable borders for themselves: the 1967 ( and even more with land swaps ). Who can say that palestinian state does not exist: approved back in 1947.
