I agree! Forcing people to practice Judaism in a uniform way is against Jewish teaching. In Hebrew school, I was taught that each person has his own personal relationship with G-d. Now, if I wanted to go to a movie on Erev Shabbat so be it and if I go to or make a Shabbat meal for family and friends so be it! The blessing is in the freedom of choice and not the strict implementation of the law by men who care more about paper and ideas the human beings who live and breath the culture they sopposedly love and protect.
