Maybe reality will intrude in a few days or weeks. But the Republicans vowed, "no negotiation." Their problem may be that Obama still has veto power and may not be in a mood to do as they tell him. In 1994, they shut down the government. And Boehner promised to cut, cut, cut. All foreign aid may be cut, and we may have a much smaller military. On the other hand, they may just cut off all benefits to Senior Citizens. That is where the "socialism" is thickest in the US government - Social Security and health care for the elderly and the poor. The future is less than certain. My company just cut all spending, hiring and buying plans until the future is clearer.
