The last chance that the palestinians had a chance to have their state in the west bank and gaza was during the last weeks of the Clinton administration. Dennis Ross's book 'The Missing Peace' clearly shows what Barak had offered, the entire West bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem and the control over the Al Aksa Mosque. Yet the Palestinians refused to accept it. Israel has been ready for peaceful coexistance with its Arab neighbours and to peace with the Palestinians since 1948. We are still waiting for a serious partner in peace who would stop the violence perpatrated by the terror organizations, un arm them and sit down to negotiation table. It is not easy. On our side Rabin lost his life, Barak lost his political career and for pulling out of Gaza Sharon also is taking a risk with his political career and his life but they are doing it for peace. Is there a leader among the Palestinians who would take such a risk and un arm the terrorists so that negotiations can start? we have not seen one yet.
