You can take the land but if you do not have the wealth to protect, sustain and inhabit it you will soon lose it again. The occupation needs a ton of money to sustain it and expand the settlements. Israel has diverted wealth it would otherwise have used within the green line to do this. Those living within the green line have - however unwillingly - largely accepted this because until now the country's economy has in reasonable shape. You are living in fantasy land if you believe this would still be the case if the economy was to take a dive. Most Israelis live within the green line and if it comes to a choice between them and us for dwindling resources I know which side I would back.
