Of course you are correct. Amalek as a specific race or tribe disappeared very long ago. I was using Amalek to symbolise those who fight to destroy the people of Israel, as I might speak of the Biblical Haman or Hitler as an embodiment of Amalek. Hamas's charter says their purpose is to annihilate Israel and all Jews. When the Iranian President says he wants to wipe Israel off the map his voice is an echo of Amalek. It's similar to calling people with no culture 'Philistines' or calling someone exceptionally helpful a 'Good Samaritan.' It's symbolic, not racial.
