With Hamas controlling Gaza and Fatah in charge of the West Bank this seems like this is a replay of the West Pakistan/East Pakistan conflict of 1971. History shows that each side eventually went their separate ways. I am sure Israel can make some sort peace accord/agreement with Mr. Abbas and Fatah concerning the status of West Bank. Mr. Abbas surly understands that their is no going back to Gaza without incurring a brutal civil war against Hamas, one Fatah may not win. In dealing with Hamas and Gaza, Israel's present containment policy may be the best bet. What is so wrong with Gaza being its own little whining entity? One must remember that Hamas has sworn to eliminate Israel.
