1. Silly to talk about attempts to "alter the natural agenda in the Middle East". What does that mean? Nothing. 2. It is however reasonable to voice criticism against the decision by the international community to give "top priority" to the israeli-palestinian issue. But it becomes absurd to criticize the Quartet in this context, because giving top priority to the israeli-palestinian issue is their raison d´etre. 3. Reaching a deal and creating a palestinian state will not bring democracy to, for example, Syria. The arab spring is not about Israel. Ashton and the EU should promote reforms and the struggle for democracy all over the region. And the EU should also promote a better cooperation with Turkey. 4. But we, the israelis, should also push forward with constructive and peaceful ideas in order to achieve deal with the palestinians. The Middle East needs both things: democracy to egyptians and syrians, and a democratic state for the palestinians. And you know what? Lieberman should resign and go home. That would be good for Israel.
