I have my own reservations about feminism in general and in religion specifically, but Silverman and Lithwick's points are sound and reasonable. Rabbinic authority needs to let go of the all to human instinct to monopolize religious power and enforce their opinions as dogma, and to engage the plurality of Jewish religious diversity in the arena of textual argument and their merits. 'Tradition' can become a wall to truth.
