The extremists - both religious and nationalists - justify the occupation on the basis of ancient history and ancient religious texts. They wield enormous control over Israel policy-making and their goal is to establish a "Greater Israel". These fundamentalists - with Bibi's blessing - will never run out of excuses for why Israel cannot resolve its conflict with the Palestinians. A solution will only come if it is imposed by the international community. They have the means to do so, what they lack to date is the will. When Israel says that the external world should be not be permitted to interfere in its affairs - regardless of the fact that it is never reluctant to seek support that suits its political agenda - it ignores the fact that the Palestinians are equally entitled to have political goals and equally entitled to seek international help to achieve them.
