It could happen, but only after a major regional war involving those couontries. Like Poland before WWI, that was partitioned between Russia, Germany and Austria-Hungary (All Major World Powers at the time) and regained independence at the end of the war. At the moment it would be best for the Kurds to maximise the benefits of autonomy without explicitely seceding - a move that could bring war on them.
