The reform and conservative movements are, essentially, departures from Judaism just as was the early church. They speak solemnly about the need for Jewish continuity but present such anemic and contradiction laden versions of their New Judaism, that it is not surprising that their youth intermarry at such alarming rates. So the question is which will happen first: the disapoearance of these New Judaisms from rampant intermarriage decimating their ranks or their succesful navigation towards full fledged status as new religions with nostalgic links to their Jewish origins.
