A government is elected on a whole range of issues the so called peace process being just one of them. What happens if you like everything about a government but you hate their policy on the peace process you have to decide what do you want more, their stand on other issues at the expense of the peace process. This way you can have the government you like then you can have a referendum and vote specifically do you like the deal they have negotiated. The people who say YES well hell they are jumping for joy the people who say NO well they have also had their chance to influence the final result. and the will of the majority will rule. Referendums are much more democratic than elections especially in Israels political system. The thing thats wrong with this bill is it lumps the Golan & Jerusalem together s somebody might be willing to give up one thing but not the other by voting yes they have given government the ok to give up both and how many people will take this into consideration when they go vote .. thats the undemocratic part of this referendum bill.
