    The IDF did a lousy job in 2006 based on three criteria. Based on supreme overconfidence. Based on the fact that due to that overconfidence they only threw a tiny percentage of their military might at Hezbollah, and even that in a half hearted, haphazard way. (partly this was to limit casualties) Based on stupid comments by politicians setting ridiculous and unattainable goals for the war. In reality Hezbollah took a much bigger beating then they let on. After the war a contingent from the Iranian military went to Lebanon and upbraided Hezbollah for what they considered their poor performance. I urge anyone who wants to get a balanced account (good bad and ugly) of the war to read the Wikipedia page. It is actually very accurate. We have some propagandists on talkback who claim that the Wikepeida page has a bad accuracy rating. It actually has a good rating today, but it doesn't matter. Any clown with an axe to grind can spend several hours clicking bad or good ratings - they are entirely subjective and meaningless. The propagandists who cite them are frauds. Just read the page and make your own judgments.
