What the Palestinians want is their own Palestinian state and another bi-National state into which they will send a flood of "refugees" under the non-starter "Right of Return." By insisting that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a "Jewish State" it thwarts their Machiavelian goal to eventually control both states - one all-Palestinian - and the other (Israel) to which a potential 4 million Palestinian refugees hope to return, effectively destroying Israel as a Jewish state. Even if Abbas does recognize Israel, his word is worth nothing. They are still Arabs and as long as Israel exists and as long as there is a Jewish presence in Israel, there will be conflict. It doesn't matter what Israel does or what concessions it makes, none of it matters. What does matter is Israel's survival as a sovereign Jewish state and whatever Israel has to do to ensure that happens, so be it.
