Israel has failed to create social cohesion between the Jews themselves. The truth is that the number one uniting factor for Israeli Jews is not identity as they come from very different cultures and backgrounds (religious, secular, zionists, anti-zionists, Ethiopian, Polish, Russian, French, American, etc.) but fear of the Palestinians, Arabs and the Gentiles i.e. war or the threat of war with its neighbors and the propaganda of fear that comes with it. As soon as there is absence of war, the reality of deep divisions and mistrust among the Jews of Israel becomes all too clear. This may even be a motive for future wars. That is the bigger threat for Israel and the success of any potential binational state and not the so-called silence of the Palestinians who are doomed if they do and doomed if they don't. Stop finding ways to blame the victims, the occupied, and start looking at the deep failures of the Zionist project and Israeli society.
