Reasons why Palestinians don't have to recognize Israel as a Jewish state: 1. Jews have a right to self-determine like anyone else, but not on someone else's land. When they chose Palestine to do so, they violated the natives' right to self-determination. Palestinians born on what is now Israel have the same rights as Israeli Sabras to that land, and more than any Jewish immigrant. 2. Palestinians have already recognized Israel as a sovereign state. Israelis have yet to do the same. The character of Israel is not up to the neighbors to define. 3. The right of return is an inalienable right of any refugee in the world. It will not be given up up front, but will be negotiated just like all the other issues.
