Not good at all. The elected civilian head of the armed forces issues a direct order - a clear, unambiguous order - to the military under his control and it is not only ignored but openly defied. I know what would happen in this country - every military officer in the chain of command between the Minister and this Colonel would be reprimanded, dismissed, or broken to the rank of dog-catcher. I imagine this would also be the result in the USA. But in Israel? This guy gets a new job with Olmert. So, excuse me, but just *how* professional is this much-vaunted IDF? Coz it sounds more and more like an ill-disciplined rabble to me.
