Ha'aretz is such a disappointment. This so-called standard bearer for balanced and responsible journalism is focused on whether a pop singer mentions the word "Israel" in a concert that will be forgotten in a week if it hasn't been already. At the same time, after scouring the online edition, no mention of the Roma stories raging in Europe. It would seem that an Israeli based newspaper not to mention the Anti Defamation League would be outraged at the treatment of the Roma couple in Ireland accused of abducting a blue eyed, blonde child, particularly when DNA tests back up their story. Wouldn't Israelis come to the defense of a people who have historically been discriminated against? It is surprising that it hasn't been the foremost thought of a group of people who practically daily invoke descriptions of anti-Semitism, UN discrimination against Israel, not to mention self-hating Jews who attack Israel, in order to highlight the terrible situation they have. Having had (or continuing to have, depending on who you ask) that experience of COURSE they would be interesting in coming to the Roma's defense. Right?
