Read the statement again. Accepting the "reality" of Israel is no more or less than acknowledging what exists--not the legitimacy of it. The statement that the UN, the EU, the Russians, the moderate Arab states, and, yes, the U.S. and Israel have insisted upon is accepting the "right" of Israel to exist--that, honoring prior agreements, and disbanding terror groups are all reasonable and in keeping with a "peace process" that means something. Meshal holding out "recognizing" Israel until after a peace deal is final--which could never come to be--is no change, but just another trial balloon of how little the world community will accept before reopening the aid spigot.
