To Akiva #12, You make the same mistake as many Israeli apologists: "The Arabs did not accept the partition". What you leave out is that they never had the chance to accept it. Israeli forces as early as October 1947 started depopulating Arab villages not only in what was to be the Jewish state, but also in the Arab state areas. The Arabs never had a chance and Israel was never in danger; they outnumbered the Arabs and had better training and weapons. Arab armies from Jordan and Egypt did not arrive until well after summer of 1948 and then only protected what was left of the Arab state; Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Go read Ben Gurian's Diary for yourself. He recorded each village as they were depopulated of Arabs. Israel was never the victim; it was always the invader that took more than its share and is still trying to do so.
