Brodsky was also, like Shalit doing a service to his coutnry that not only he, but his superiors thought neccessary... to state that one person should suffer so another who has already suffered can be free is truly indicative of an adolescent and immature view. Shalit SHOULD go free... and Hamas is the one to blame, not so much for the method they got him, not so much because they want an unequal prisoner swap, but more so, because they are asking (not like article states) for :hundreds" in return, but for 1000 people... who have been convicted in court of law... despite that they feel it was unjust.. 1000 for one DOES appear to be not just unrealistic, but bordering on Hamas attempting to either "win the lottery of trades" or get Netanyahu to state it cant be done due to too many people... either way.. Hamas SHOULD have accespted the HUNDREDS the Prime Minister already offered... its sad that I feel this particular post of realism may not be posted...

from the article: Noam Shalit meets with Netanyahu, says given 'no news'
