I couldn't agree more with Gideon Levy's article concerning this tragedy. Unfortunately, the one force which would be of most benefit in ending this conflict (an international peacekeeping force to the region), has been opposed by the U.S and Israel. As long as the U.S media continues to report on this conflict, relying on exclusively Israeli military sources and Israel (represented in the form of organizations such as AIPAC and JINSA)continues to fund election campaigns of our elected officials in the U.S, true peace initiatives will continue to be buried under the sand so to speak! With the U.S as sole proprietor of the so-called "Road map to Peace" Israel will continue to use the "they started it" excuse to carry out atrocities because this same exuse is used by U.S media sources and government officials to justify their one-sided views of this conflict. With the U.S continuing to provide cover whenever atrocities committed by Israel occur, no peaceful resolution is possible!
