Yes, I agree it is encouraging to see Obama trying to free himself from Bush 's dangerous view of the world, "the axis of evil" And like so many people in the US I feel Bush and Cheney used the crime of 9/11 to wage an illegal war of aggression against Iraq and Afghanistan in its name...... Now, I have spent the last 10yrs along with others fighting their illegal warsand in particular the arrest and detention of Muslim men and the denial of ac- cess to due process. (Shameful, isn't it? ) Thank God, a lot of this injustice has ended under Obama but he has since found himself suporting the use of Special Forces into Afghanistan and Pakistan by the idiots who advocate "taking out enemy"" and now I have to fight this lawless too. Still, I am glad the Afghans are helping by putting up a pretty good fight and the people of Pakistan are fed up with US Special Forces vio-lating their sovereign borders.... Plus, Americans are feeling mentally drained by end less war and financial stressed... However, I feel I will be fighting the response to 9/11 for a long time to come.... Especially, the paranoia that accompanies called " homeland security" . ( Sounds like we went through a bout of communism --doesn't it? ) Cheers, anyway . Dutch

How I learned to fall in love with sanctions

Sanctions did not devastate South Africa or Iran. Nor will they destroy Israel; above all it will extricate Israel from a trap it is unable to get out of by itself.
