Well said, Gary! We do have a proud history of being on the front lines of justice and political change. Our posterity as a people lies in the fact that we have long been able to fight for what is right. Unfortunately some of us have dropped that legacy with the circumcision issue. It is easier for some Jews to follow tradition without question, to get stuck in the rut of saying, “I do this because G-d says so.” This is not what being a Jew is about. We must think, we must question, we must progress. That is our strength.
