    Then you'd be out of luck there too, because although they still forbid homosexuality for both genders strict Orthodox Imams support intersexed persons (persons born with signs of both sexes/ambiguous genitalia, also called hermaphrodites) and have done so since very early in Islam. The intersexed have always been allowed to choose which sex they wish to live as and to marry accordingly. Now that surgery is available they have the right to choose or not choose to acquire all the physical signs of their choosen gender. By extension, many Imams now consider transgendered people to have the brain development and therefore self-image of one gender, while having the sexual development and signs of the other. They are considered a form of intersex. It may be just a matter of time before this is extended to gays and lesbians...the understanding that part, but not all of their brain has developed in an intersexed way. Tough luck...try another religion.
