The need to preempt Iran and export gas to Egypt was the reason the government gave to push through its controversial plan for Israel's natural gas. Now, this reason may no longer exist.03:48 31.08.15 | 1 comments
The alliance between Israel and America has for the most part been based on mutual interest, though Bush today has some ideological motive as well. The mutual part of that mutual interest is what is most interesting. The Second World War, severely damaged the British Diamond Pipeline creating a considerable pinch where Belgium used to be. This was a bloody loss of life for us, but also shifted the balance of power in our favor and gave us considerable control over the diamond trade, both for industrial and luxury purposes. We have outsourced some of the cutting, but we still essentially own this industry and like many industries, weapons, electronics, medicine, software or chemical, our resourcefulness can make our friends rich, or our enemies poor. A lot of what made modern America so powerful came from us, if it was not worth our time, we could take all of that elsewhere.
