Yes, both bombing buses and bombing the King David Hotel were rational on a large scale--as in, both were rational attempts to further their causes (I'm not commenting on the morality of either event). Iran beginning a nuclear war is completely irrational since it will only hurt their future and bring large scale devastation to themselves. And to preempt anybody who didn't understand my first sentence: yes, it is somewhat irrational for someone to kill himself for a cause, but from the perspective of the guy who gave the order, it is completely rational. Furthermore, each bomber was brain-washed that he will be rewarded with paradise, so, again, not even so irrational.
