Responding to the baseless accusations, founded on assumptions rather than facts, here is a hard dose of medicine and reality for you and the doc? Mexican immigrants are anything but a drain on American society. Many open up businesses here in the U.S. like in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Arizona, California, and other places and pay business taxes just like other businesses. In fact, the largest group of people opening up businesses and employing workers in the U.S. today is immigrants to this country. Immigrants have revitalized aging communities in decline like La Habra and Santa Ana, CA, Tucson, AZ, Myrtle Beach, S.C. and others. They buy homes, and pay property taxes, which in turn, fund the schools that their children attend. Don’t be fooled! Contrary to popular belief Mexican immigrants and their children visit American hospitals less than any other segment of the U.S. population. A recent survey conducted by the University of California found that of Mexican immigrants, only 9.8 percent of them visited an emergency room in the last year. That’s less than half the rate of people born in the U.S. Schools, instead of letting go of teachers due to an evidenced decline in the birthrate amongst the white population in the U.S. are able to keep and employ more teachers due to this influx of new immigrants. There is nothing wrong with one sending their child to a school that is 98 percent Hispanic anymore than it is to send their child to one that is 98 percent white. And instruction is in fact, taught in English not predominantly in Spanish. Immigrants with Matricula cards from the Mexican Consulate are able to open up bank accounts and keep their money in AMERICAN BANKS increasing the available money supply to give loans to the rest of the AMERICAN population. This is crucial at a time when the U.S savings rate is in negative territory! Yes, it is these Mexicans that provide the available money for mortgages, car loans, and keep interest rates low for the rest of us spoiled Americans. As for Mexico, they too, have experienced 10 years of solid economic growth. American and European insurance companies, and airline companies are flocking there to tap into the growing middle class. Yes, more reforms are needed and will come, but nothing happens overnight. Even China with its rapid 9 percent GDP growth still has millions of people living in poverty. You cannot please anybody. Lou Dobbs, and Bill O’Reilly will never tell you that. They only glorify groups like the minuteman, which in addition to being an Anti-immigrant group, they are also openly Anti-Semitic. This means they hate you just as much if not more, than they hate us.
