Baroness Jenny Tonge. Above the din of cacophony, there lies the simple truth of pathological hatred focused in a certain direction. "The Haversting of Organs;" In 1951 a young black woman named Henruetta Lacks was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital & given a diagnosis of cervical cancer. The doctors removed a sample of her tumor & sent it without her permission to a research lab. Lacks died a few months later, but the sample lived on & on.It was the first human tissue to be successfully kept alive as a culture. Her cells have been shot into space. Many drugs owe their inventions to Lacks' cells. But Lacks' children were too poor to afford med.care.They were never consulted or thanked for their mother's involuntary gift to science. (From Time Magazine Feb,22,2010) People should, before spewing their hatred take time & search their own hearts to see what inborn mumps they themselves carry.
