Finally, being ruled for four hundred years by the Portuguese may not have been one long holiday. And yet, as you say, the Timorese haven't started whining. At least, they haven't noticeably started up yet. As for Israel, I think the 'whining' has to do with needing to maintain a storm-front of righteousness. After all, if that banging on the victimhood drum ever stops, what possible justification will there be for Israel's conduct?
