Such news as we get from China astonishes us in the West. Cultural oppression in China, fomenting civil war in Nepal, suppressing their own people's democratic aspirations in Hong Kong, turning the People's Army on the students in Tiananmen Square, "harvesting" kidneys from political prisoners, propping up a lunatic regime in N. Korea, exploiting and grinding the poor in rural districts and in the mines, suppressing free speech on the internet, beating 50,000 dogs to death (not even eating them), exploiting int'l currency systems to boost exports, wholesale theft of intellectual property ... By contrast, Israel wrestles with balancing practical political needs, such as survival, with ethical ideals. Why would anyone from mainland China be expressing an opinion about ethics? Why would such a person even be interested in ethics?
