Raymond, I was sitting in a cafe Arab old city, Jerusalem, speaking with the owner of the cafe. He pointed to a spot in front of his cafe. "This was filled with garbage this morning!" He then pointed to a mound of garbage at the side of his cafe, "I picked it up and piled it over there" he pointed to the mound. "The Shabak and the Israeli army did not point their guns at the heads of these Arabs" he pointed his finger at his temple "and force them to throw garbage!" He sipped his coffee and went on to discribe how filthy the middle east is. He had lived in Washingto DC for a while, and praised the Americans and Israelis on how clean their cities and suburbs are. We live in an area where garbage is not seen, those who throw their trash on the sidewalk are not aware that they are doing anything wrong. It may sound amazing but that is the truth. As the cafe owner said, to cross from Palestine into Israel is to cross from the "third world" into the "first world".
