It's not US policy to enforce Palestinian/Arab will on Israel. It's not US foreign policy, to impose the views of one faction of a nations politics (here liberals) on the rest of a nation state (here Israel). It's policy is pro democracy, not partisan. It's also pro free trade. This explains its support for free movement within Palestine (including elections). That someone would ask that foreign power used against their own democratic nation (to support their own minority policy for their own nation) - is illiberal and undemocratic. The naivety. Everyone terrorist in Iraq and the wider ME would take the course proposed as a sign of weakness and claim that victory was now possible.
