Why are people resorting to Paddy-bashing when someone supports a view of non-violence or non-complicity in war? 1)Ireland is a neutral country and, as such, has every right to deny usage of our airports for these purposes. 2)The IRA's actions should not be seen as endorsed by the government of the Republic of Ireland. 3)We are not known for anti-semitism to my knowledge. Calling us anti-semitic at every disagreement and saying we are cursed is hypocritical, as it shows the same contempt for our people and religion as the guilty commentators profess we show for theirs. 4)Our economic crisis was not caused by calling a halt to these flights and the revenue gained from the flights would not make a blind bit of difference to our situation. Our crisis was partly caused by a corrupt government living in the pockets of the banks. At the end of the day, the US was wrong to transport troops, weaponry and ammunition through another sovereign nation without informing them and going through proper procedures.
